Has anyone got experience with those velcro things
for shoulder braces? Do they help shoulder stabilize,
does it reduce problems??? tia......
Used one after rotator-cuff surgery, it keeps everything tight and secure so one doesn't over use the shoulder, and is also valuable because people will give one a little more respect and distance.

It's not treatment, of course, so continuing use could hasten decline of the shoulder by complete disuse. Some slings are padded, offer more comfort and protection, as well as adjustability.

Hope you got some relief today.

Since it is your right shoulder, you really do need to get that checked.

I can tell you what worked for my left shoulder when it felt like there was little kerosene in there 24/7. That is stem cell. My shoulder was so bad the best we hoped for was 50% recovery. In the end I got about 90% recovery and the burning sensation was gone before I went to bed the day of the treatment.

The bad news is stem cell is not covered by insurance of any sort😡

Oh Don. This is the first time seeing this.
I’m so sorry you are in such pain. The only real shoulder pain I’ve had is when I got a severe rotator cuff injury. It was ridiculously painful and took about one full year to heal.

Does it feel any better than this morning or worse? Did you do anything to injure your shoulder? Did you make an appointment with a doctor?

I've had it too and in my elbow. It may be caused by sleeping on your side on a hard matrass. Tiger balm also helps.

Extreme right shoulder pain after sleeping is often caused by side-sleeping pressure, rotator cuff injury, bursitis, or tendonitis. It frequently results from compressed nerves, poor posture, or pre-existing inflammation aggravated by hours of immobility. Immediate relief options include changing positions, using ice/heat, and OTC medication.
Common Causes of Sudden Post-Sleep Shoulder Pain
  • Rotator Cuff Injuries: Tears or inflammation in the tendons surrounding the joint are frequently irritated by prolonged pressure.
  • Shoulder Bursitis: Inflammation of the fluid-filled pads (bursa) in the joint, often worsened by side-sleeping.
  • Calcific Tendonitis: Calcium deposits in tendons can cause severe, sudden, excruciating pain that disrupts sleep.
  • Sleeping Position: Lying directly on the right side for hours can restrict blood flow and compress nerves.
  • Frozen Shoulder: A stiffening of the joint capsule.
  • Referred Pain: Issues in the neck or upper back can manifest as pain in the shoulder.
Immediate and Long-Term Relief Strategies
  • Adjust Sleep Position: Sleep on your back or the opposite side.
  • Use Pillows: Place pillows to support the body and prevent rolling onto the painful side.
  • Cold/Heat Therapy: Apply ice packs to reduce swelling for 15 minutes, or use a heating pad to relax stiff muscles.
  • Range-of-Motion Exercises: Gently move the shoulder to reduce morning stiffness.
When to Seek Medical Attention
Consult a doctor if the pain is severe, persistent (lasting more than a few weeks), or accompanied by numbness. If the pain is in the left arm, it could indicate a heart attack, particularly if combined with chest tightness.
