Entry 1: = JAN 1st 2026

Rather than a mere introduction, I thought that as opposed to looking back at the many years that I have seen and have passed; - of which one has an amass of experiences (more details will I'm sure follow)
At this of year anew, doth present an opportunity to relate ones' feelings and opine of note; giving snippets of ones persona through the medium of Word.
- So, as the wheel of the New Calendar year turns, one is mindful to muse upon what has been and could be to come.

At this time there is the traditional theme of making resolutions for the self (which are unlikely to pan out / easy to break)
- I believe one should aim higher by looking to educate the youth in the right manner, but not the specific direction they should consider taking.
- in order to see both their and our future, see fortune/s Smile

Having Grandchildren to hand, one sticks to these principles, and with the usaage of "Grandad homework" I pass on the guidance of my experience/s to them.
This along with the employment of actions to supplement the words, one hopes to inspire - for after all the future belongs to those who come after us - methinks

Entry 2: = JAN 2nd 2026
.
A brief one-day return to base b'twix the U.K. Bank Holiday and weekend.
just when one would expect a quiet day at the office and despite warnings of condern the organisation of strategy, only a quite a manic exhibition of teamwork, experience and focused endeavor saved the day.

I find; often in adversity, there presents an opportunity to be creative in both thinking and action.
It is in these moments, whereupon when successful conclussions are reached that these small triumphs give rise to a sense of pride and feeling odachievement which allow one to enjoy a well deserved respite before and o'er the two-day break, - and Smile.

Entry 3: = JAN 3rd 2026
.
A Cold start to a typical winter's day in Manchester, - wyth in the shawe.
Part of one's prescribed daily exercise however is for a walkabout, so in order to maintain a healthy lifesyle. I "woke up got out of bed, drgagged a comb across my head!
Once dressed in appropriate attire, I set out to brave the chill .

A brisk walk to the local civic centre to find disappointment in that the scheduled 'first Staurday of the Month' must have been missed by the organisers of the 'local Makers Market', though in truth the choice of items and value for money that used to be 'back in the day' never seem to be achieved. these days. - Ah well.

• So onto today's observation of puzzlement.

Why do people wrap up in awarn coat, gloves, hat and ..... shorts ???

Seems a tod odd for to dress such ... I guess these modern fashion trends are beyond me.

The chill continues , and I awake to a white blamket and low temperature seeing a longer Sunday morning lie in than usual.
Still, it allowed me to be quietly productive and creative between the sheets.
Having a notepad and pen to hand I have honed the art of R.E.M. recall post cat power nap/slumber.
Within the 'land of nod' where fantasy and deja vu combine with a stimulation of imagination what movies there could well be.

An active mind can also sees a restless night of disturbed respite, though this too I seem to have overcome.
If I am unable to get my eight hours - solid, I am content to satisfy myself in getting through the night hours in short bursts of 2/3 hour sessions.

Following such rest periods, I know I have about 3-5 seconds before the daze of memory fades and ends up lost in time - hence the lamp to my right, and writing pad close to hand on the left. by the bed.

Once fully awake, I can reflect upon the notes made and analyse accordingly.
Viewing their meaning as potential coincidence/s (of a sight recently seen, or a sound; where a musical tune remids one of a time/event of time ago )
I have become quite adept at making such connections though it is those which I am unabble to do that I find more intriguing.

I have concluded that these are akin to messages sent from my spiritual guide.
Be it a descrpit of warning/s, for to be guarded and prepared, reminders of ones capacity to endure against the odds, and to measure against ones values of integrity.

Making these times of slumber = Golden

= JAN 5th 2026
.
With a split of age groups seeing the elder ones back at school today - with the other having respite until the following week.
- So begins a week of Grandad duties.

However, one person's respite is another persons role requirement, - and 10 days of Annual leave becomes far fewer days of a break.
Ah well, an opportunity to spend time with the little one is always a pleasure (even though the smiling charmer can be challenging at times).

Following an early de-icing of the car and the travel upon route of slip slidin' on the un-gritted roads to my daughters, it semed like old times as I found a scene of last minute rush for the departure of the house - albeit I had more time than they to prepare for the day,

We ran through a routine of up, toilet, wash and dress before breakfast and so beginith the day,

Jigsaws, book reading, building block building and a trip to the shops filled the day, though the best part was the talking
Relating tales of 'when I was a lad...." allows one to pass on to a younger generstion what was, what is and the possibilities of that which may well come albeit to a somewhat captive audience and / for to aim to "Teach one's (Grand) children)... well"

Day two of my sentenal duties, and I negotiate another skiddy day to school to drop one grandson off, returning via the brekkie shop to impart more knowledge to my youngest.
The subject matter today being Rudyard Kipling tale of Mowgli and his Jungle book. story.
The names and characteristics of each of the animals, the morals of friendship, loyalty and resolve.
It captured his attention for the 1hr 46 min duration and found a new favourite bear in Baloo.

This led to his descript of anoother of his works - albeit slightly somewhat paraphrased
