Woman loses half her body weight with removal of 63 kilogram tumour

When I saw this news, I was amazed that she hadn't had this checked out years earlier. She is old enough to have been on medicare for several years, and there are a number of annual exams, under medicare, that should have given some clues as to what was happening....IF she was taking advantage of these exams, AND her doctor was paying attention. It's a given that most people will add some weight as they get older, but 180 pounds on a small elderly woman should have set off all sorts of warnings.
 
Yes, she was told "[FONT=helvetica neue, helvetica, arial, sans-serif]to watch her diet". Makes me wonder about about her Doctors competency.[/FONT]
