Wow! They are on sale this week at Safeway here 4/$5, that's about the cheapest I've seen them and they grow here. :(


I wonder what that that one tastes like? It's probably not as good I'm guessing.
 

I suppose the reason is that I never grew up eating them but two things that I've never gotten around to eating in my life are avocados and artichokes......maybe I'll break down and give them both a try one of these days.

Both are very mild in taste. Use a little salt.
 
I slice them in half, remove the pit and sprinkle sea salt on them and eat with a spoon....or make homemade guacamole for nachos.
 
This thread made me buy 3 Hass avocados yesterday for $1.29 a piece, cilantro, jalapenos and multi-grain tortilla chips. Already have red onion but I forgot LIMES for guacamole.

The avocados should be ripe enough tomorrow so I'll have to go get limes.
