Woman races across 4 lanes of traffic, dives into canal to save child, Oregon cops say

An Oregon woman raced across a highway to save a toddler from drowning in a canal, the Redmond Police Department said.

On July 7, a 2-year-old child fell into a canal and was rescued by a woman who had been driving on Highway 97, the department said in a statement. The woman saw the child’s father trying to flag down cars and saw the toddler run across the highway and fall into a canal.

Yes that's what we're supposed to do.

Thank God this didn't end another way! Just to imagine what could have happened to that baby is frightening. I do not understand people who let their toddlers play outside along while "keeping an eye" on them from windows. What about locking the doors. When I see these kinds of stories I wonder WTH is wrong with these people. God bless that hero woman for what she did!!
