Women's MMA Fighter Almost Not Allowed to Fight Because Of Breast Implants

A state commission wanted to halt a planned women's match because a fighter has breast implants. They say it's a medical hazard and they could burst. She has fought 7 times prior without incident.

Just as much as a potential hazard couldn't certain implants or alterations be an unfair advantage?

I guess you don't have to fight to have those implants leak or burst. I remember watching a Naked and Afraid show where the woman tapped out and left her partner in the jungle because her breast implant was leaking or something. Personally, I don't see why women do these things to their bodies, but it's none of my business. If someone loses a breast to cancer, than I can definitely see reconstructive surgery and implants if that what would make them feel better, although even then, I would hesitate to go under the knife.

It's part of the bigger is better mentality. Wether it's a male body builder or a women getting breast implants people have to realize or think about the skin. If it is stretched too much it won't shrink back which means even more surgery for loose skin or have the sagging skin of an 80 year old by 40.

As a MMA fighter the chest can be hit but it's harder to land the type of blow that could burst an implant. That being said it only takes one. Perhaps they should regulate the type & size of implant or protections/precautions one must take. 7 fights along with training with no apparent issues I'd approve her to fight.
