I know about Spring cleaning and summer isn't perhaps the best time. But still off my sleepy time meds and totally off schedule. But yeah when my son gets home from his vacation he'll be impressed. I've been down-sizing for awhile now...but his sister's room I hadn't gotten to.

See with the other uh hem..."average teens"...the childhood toys and books go away magically at maybe 12 or 13. My girl is still maybe eight in her head so the transition wasn't quite so fast. But yesterday and today I tackled her room. I know the toys she still connects with and the ones that were merely dust covered.

I remember Erma Bombeck joking that the dolls in her daughter's room looked scared...yup I toadly understand. Maybe six leaf bags of garbage and six leaf bags of donations. In a small room that's really bad. But freeing, she had stuffed critters from her brothers and sisters...she's down to seven now...a whole black bag jeez.

Wow! Fureverywhere, you are really getting things done. I am happy for you. I usually start my fall cleaning late in August. People think I am crazy, but I have my reasons. I hate the heat and August is usually the hottest month so I figure I might as well get the cleaning out of the way so I can enjoy the fall weather which is my favorite season. Nice to be outside raking leaves, putting the garden to bed and not have to think about deep cleaning the inside. I have a clothes line which the younger generation laughs at, but I put my washed comforters and blankets on and they dry in a flash in the summer heat. Oh how I miss Erma Bombeck. I related to her like no other.

I need to still do my Winter cleaning. I guess I can change my Winter cleaning to Spring Cleaning and now change it to Summer cleaning. I think I am going to call a housecleaning agency to come in and clean. I just have had no motivation to do it whatsoever. I'm just trying now to determine who would be the best one to call.

Remember Bewitched? Don't you wish you could wiggle your nose and everything would whirl around putting itself away? I'd be happy just be able to do that with the litter boxes. Yes if money was no object I would pay somebody to just change litter boxes, dog bombs in the yard, change the rat cage twice a month and keep the fish tank balanced...oy, that I can dream:p

I know what you mean about the litter box. I did make life easier with the last two cats we had. I put a couple of sheets of news paper in the bottom of the litter box. My hubby was working then and had access to a lot of clean shredded paper. I put the shredded paper on top of the newspaper and the cats would use that. After they used the box or when I got home I picked up the 4 corners of the paper and threw the whole thing out and repeated the process. I kept the shredded paper in a Spackle bucket near the box with the newspaper sheets on top ready to go. I started them out this way when they were kittens and they didn't seem to mind as long as they could give a scratch or two after they went they were happy.

I can only afford to have someone come in one time and then I figure I won't feel overwhelmed any more and I will be able to start doing it myself again.

That litter box idea is a good one...I'm thinking maybe a few full sheets of newspaper under a layer of kitty litter...non-stick pan there:eek:nthego:
