Word lovers and word haters

I guess I'm in the word lover category. At least I seem to fall into a correspondence too easily with women. Sometimes they are bored with the exchange of letters, but strangely they only rarely just discontinue writing. No apologies no explanations, that would be the way to do it. One of them scrawled her message in a few huge words that more or less filled out the page. Another explained that she wants to stop corresponding with me, and in her next-to-last letter to me admonished me to not respond too quickly, for, if I did that, she would be obligated to also respond soon.

Once I mentioned to a female co-worker that I used the library. She was as shocked as if I had mentioned that I like kiddie porn or dog fighting. To her, libraries deal with words, those hated things. Whether its books, magazines or newspapers, it's still words and words leave her cold. Ok, it's true that nobody would ever confuse her with an intellectual.

One big problem with word lovers is that they ramble on and on, just as I'm doing just now.

I've heard many women say that corresponding with men is a bore because they only ever want to write about two subjects; themselves, and the woman with whom they are corresponding.

Bajabob that's a pity for you. When people like "words"it is something that you intuitively enjoy, and stays with you. Hope you link up with some correspondents again.
