Bathos (noun) - an effect in literature or the arts created by a change in mood from the sublime to the ridiculous.

It was pure bathos onstage when the singer switched from singing a classic aria to crooning nursery rhymes.

Kinda reminds me of the day I was taking a shower and happy as a lark. Then Bathos: I dropped the soap and slipped and fell upside down in the shower stall. Bathos really hit then:
Water should be hitting my head, not my ass.. I’m in this confined area, floundering around like a fish out of water trying to right myself. Thank god my SIL installed four grab bars or I would still be in there trying to stand up.
