Word of the Day: Bight

My dream would be to live in a bight, directly on the waterfront, and play with my lite-bight, I mean lite-brite.

The way I've heard this used is also one of the definitions:

a loop of rope, as distinct from the rope's ends

I heard (and read) the term when learning to do the knots used for climbing. I would also imagine that it's used by those tying lines on ships and boats. It's also probably used in the construction trades.

I can see what appears to be like a small bight, on the edge of my biscuit, right after I've taken a bite out of it.

Thanks for the word, Deb, and for all of the informative and entertaining posts about it, from others!:)
