We had one of those, too. I made distort out of blackberries and disdain almost never came off. I about wore out disarm with the scrubbing. I had to.....discoloring didn't go with my white counter.

I love pickled baby beets right out of the jar. Sometimes a drop or two gets on the counter. These I wipe up fast as they tend to really stain things up.
