Goober (noun) - a peanut. Also slang for a stupid, eccentric or silly person.

Goober on "The Andy Griffith Show" was aptly named. Must have been all the peanuts he ate.

I like goobers once in awhile but they are not my favorite nut. My favorite is cashews.

Yeah, chocolate covered cashews or almonds are a real treat for me. The last time I went to Job Lots, I looked for them. They just had one bag left of chocolate almonds and for an 8 oz bag it was $5.99!
