Word of the Day - Ichor

That word was in one of my crosswords today!
Wow. I'd never get that word. I haven't ever heard the word in 80 years. And I've been in healthcare for over 40 years...:)

Which crossword puzzles do you like? I ply the ones from the L.A. Times and the N.Y. Times. I never do the Sunday ones because they're 21X21 squares, so when I print them out, the questions fonts are so small that I can't read them.

I do various ones online.
My husband prints out the Sunday NYT for me... he gets a kick out of my finishing with few errors using a pen :)

Wondering how on earth the word for "blood" of the gods became the medical term for fluid seeping from a wound? Ichor is an antiquated medical term. Serous (clear) or serosanguinous (serous with blood) have replaced it.
