Word of the Day - Imprecation

A spoken curse.

Imprecations came in full force when my spaghetti sauce fell on the floor.

The local paper had a misprint: "At the last meeting of the Grange, the opening imprecation was given by the Reverend Barker." I think they meant to say invocation.
