Mutton Chops (noun) - a type of beard in which the sideburns are grown out to the cheeks, leaving the chin clean-shaven.

U.S. President Chester Arthur sported mutton chop style whiskers.

It is not a fashionable style, today. That's why I've never heard it before. I was thinking it had something to do with lamb chops. Now I know what it means when someone uses it in conversation. But, that may not happen any time soon.
