Word of the Day: Petrichor

I think we'll have to wait till Spring,

To once again, breathe in ,
thru all our senses,

that amazing and refreshing petrichor.
We are supposed to have rain tomorrow though. It may get to bad out there to go out after it rains.

I wonder if wintry rains have the same petrichor, as the Spring and Summertime rains.
🤔🤔
I feel I should know;
however, I'm not entirely sure. 🙄🤭🤗

Is there a scientist among us, who would know? 🤓😄

Or perhaps a meteorologist, who majored in.....petrichorology...????
😊☺️🤩😁

Living in Perth, being as hot as it is, petrichor is an oft smelt aroma.

(Would petrichor be an odour or an aroma, is it a pleasant smell in anyone's opinion?)
I think here, we'd generally call it a scent, which is usually a pleasant smell.

Odor would be negative, usually.
Aroma leans toward a positive word, as you said,
though most all scents could be subjective in that what is pleasant to one person might not be to another.

Except for those types of odors in nature, that most anyone finds offensive, reminding me of protective measures by some plants and creatures.

The scent of rain-washed outdoor air is wonderful. So yes. 😄
To answer your question, I used a lot of words, to say that I think everyone enjoys petrichor.😁😊☺️

I had a look see and a Scent is an umbrella term that can be an odour or an aroma.
