Word of the Day - Precipitous

English lesson for the day...

During his time in office, Clinton's pants often fell at a precipitous rate. o_O

So when we say that the stock market is falling faster than Clinton's pants, we are, in effect, using the word "precipitous".

You are most welcome...

The stairway with 14 steps leading to my condo were a cinch to climb when I bought this place, but 16 years later, they have become more precipitous with each birthday. 👩‍🦳
I know what you mean. Our condo building is about a city block long with 24 units on each of three floors, and we live on the top floor. Though we do have a centrally located elevator, I usually take the stair unless I have something bulky to carry. Those stairs seem to increase their count every week. The walk, even though on the same floor from the elevator to our condo seems to get longer too, especially if I have to use the bathroom. We live in a corner unit farthest from the elevator. Of course, the good thing is that we can get plenty of walking exercise without having to go outside in sub-zero temperatures as we have now.
