Word of the Day - Reciprocity

Reciprocity usually refers to doing something positive, in return for something positive.

And often refers to laws, and other formal agreements;
such as one specific USA State recognizing your prior driver license from a different specific State, while your State recognizes theirs as well.

If you move to a different State, you might not need to take the Drivers exams in your new one, if they have reciprocities with your former State of residence.

If I invite someone to my home for a dinner meal, and they come, with a gift for me in hand.....

Then, when they invite me to come to their home for a dinner meal,
I might think that I should bring along a gift for them, in order to be polite.

In other words, people often feel a social need to reciprocate.
By exchanging a friendly kindness, in somewhat equivalent manner.

If you've borrowed a tool, or an ingredient, from a neighbor,
do you feel that you should make every effort to return the favor, if asked?

It doesn't need to seem like an obligation; it's more that perhaps we would want to? ....do the same, very willingly.?

While most, if not all states codify such reciprocity, even if they do not, it falls under the Full Faith and Credit Clause due to the fact it involves Interstate Commerce.

That's very interesting. Thank you for sharing your info!:geek:

To clarify, I was not referring to when we might drive thru several States, going from Ohio to Florida and back, for 2 winter weeks for example.;):giggle::giggle::LOL:

Our 'out of State' drivers license is always legal, in that situation.

I meant that if you decided to leave one State, to live in another;
then, what you need to do, in order to get a new legal driver license in your new State of residency,
Differs depending on what reciprocity exists, between the 2 States, is that correct?

Does that scenario fall under the clause you referred to?

Do both of those 2 differing scenarios, fall under it,or just one or just the other?o_O:rolleyes::oops:o_O

You know me... always curious. :unsure::geek::giggle::LOL:
