I can definitely apply tenuous to myself. At 75 I am much more tenuous about pursuing adventures. When younger I was confident I could extricate myself safely from any situation I found myself in. But, today, as a senior citizen at 75 years old I feel far less confident in my ability to handle anything I may encounter. I often wonder what has changed in me to cause such doubt.
