Everything really is bigger in the Great State of Texas - including Buc-ee's. But not for much longer.

The popular store is set to open its largest location yet in Luling, Texas, on June 10 - spanning a mammoth 75,000 square feet and boasting 120 fuel pumps.

This is even more sprawling than the current biggest outlet measuring at 74,000 square feet in Sevierville, Tennessee - dubbed the 'world's largest convenience store' when it opened last year.

But not to be outdone, Florida is already set to dwarf the pair of them, with a new mega store coming to Ocala in 2025 that is set to take up 80,000 square feet.

The Luling Buc-ee's will have 120 fuel pumps and occupy more than 75,000 square feet (more than 1.3 times the size of a football field)

Meanwhile, in Florida, residents are eagerly awaiting updates on their new store.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis awarded $4 million to his state's transportation department in April 2023 to begin adding new interchanges alongside the new Buc-ee's, which is expected to have 120 gas pumps and more than 720 parking spots.

However, the company has not yet confirmed any details about the Ocala location, a Buc-ee's spokesperson told DailyMail.com.

Last November DailyMail.com visited the new monster Sevierville, Tennessee, location as crowds of shoppers camped out overnight to witness the opening.

The store features 120 gas pumps, a barbecue brisket counter with a 'Texas round-up station' and rows upon rows of beef jerky.

But perhaps the most popular thing to eat at Buc-ee's is its famous Beaver Nuggets - caramel corn.

Largest convenience store opens in Texas - but Florida's will dwarf it

Does it have the food section of a Marks and Spencer?

Since visiting Edinburgh years ago, that is my standard.

Convenience store? Sounds like a supermarket to me.

There's going to be a Buc-ee's in the Atlanta area soon. Heck, maybe it's already open? Groundbreaking was in January of this year.

we don't have anything like that here..but I've always wondered, in the giant supermarkets in the USA... surely there's no enough variety of food to fill so many shelves, so do they double up... I mean for example in a huge Walmart do they have an aisle of say...Cereal at both ends of the store..?

I mean cuz I'm thinking if you had forgotten the butter in the first aisle.. would you have to walk all the way back if you realised when you got to the last aisle ? :D

Sorry, @hollydolly you have to walk all the way back to the cereal aisle. Keep in mind that a Walmart store isn't just food; it also has an automotive department, paint department, camping/sporting equipment department, toys, garden center, pharmacy, jewelry, makeup, pet supplies, men's, women's, kids' clothing and baby clothes and supplies, furniture, fast food eateries, even an optician. Some have beauty salons. It's like a Costco.

It's probably "late" enough now that I can go to bedšŸ›Œ

our supermarkets have all that too including opticians, money exchange etc ..... but from what I'm told they're just a quarter the size of American supermarkets

What happened to Stucky's?
Oh, when I was a kid on trips, I always wanted to stop at a Stuckey's for lunch. Never happened, as my frugal mom would never pay for a Stuckey's lunch when there was always enough food for an Army platoon packed away in a cooler in the car.

So instead of dining elegantly (at least elegantly for us) at a Stuckey's, we got to stop at a roadside park that consisted of one splintery picnic table, a trash barrel that hadn't been emptied since the Truman presidency, and a swarm of flies determined to make off with our sandwiches. Bathroom facilities always consisted of "behind THAT tree" or "behind THAT bush"......

I have stopped at a Buck-ees a few times. I like the one off of of I-95 in Daytona. Overall, they are pretty nice with almost everything in it for the traveler. The food is only so-so at best. I had the hot rib sandwich and the all beef hot dog.

The one I stop at the most has 120 gas pumps and if you stop there in the afternoon, it's very likely all the pumps will be busy. They also have EV Chargers. Prices are reasonable compared to the truck stops along the way.

You can grab what you want and be on your way in just minutes. They have plenty of checkout registers. Hardly any waiting in line. The bathrooms have no waiting with plenty of toilets and urinals.

If a convenience store has become so large that you can’t quickly and easily find items there, hasn’t it transitioned to an Inconvenience Store? I’ve heard that they put items on shelves ten feet off the ground in such places…

ā€It’s so very inconvenient!,ā€ shoppers review.

ā€Exactly!,ā€œ proud managers gloat… 😸

To put the size into perspective, The largest shop in the UK by floor space is Tesco Extra in Walkden, with 185,500 sq ft.
One of the biggest growing industries in our country is the home delivery. The internet has changed shopping habits, so many now buy much of there purchases on-line.

Its less a supermarket and more a giant convenience store.
