In late October, I bought a washer, dryer, and stove from Home Depot online. I called to cancel the order. The customer service reps I talked to said the order did not exist, even though it was linked on my online account. The online link was dead, though. I told them to make sure it was not delivered because I was going to order the items from another store. I also asked them why, if the order didn't exist, HD had already charged my credit card. They said that was impossible and they did not charge my card.
I ordered the same items from Best Buy and everything went smoothly.
Meanwhile, I could not get HD to refund my money. A credit finally showed up in my credit card account in late December. Oh, and HD delivered the original order in November, without telling me. My adult son actually accepted the delivery even though he had accepted the Best Buy delivery a week earlier. In early December, I did get the local HD to pick up the appliances they had delivered even though my order did not exist.
I moved out of the house my husband and I lived in because he was going to public places daily, and not taking Covid precautions. I have triple negative breast cancer and could not take the risk of getting Covid. I am also very sensitive to the various chemo drugs, and get very sick from the many side effects. Otherwise I would have handled this HD situation with a lot more gusto.
I hope all this makes sense. I can't type very well because of chemo-induced neuropathy in my hands. And I have what they call chemo brain, which will likely reverse once chemo is over. Senior moments happen to me now too frequently.
