Would This Song Be Aired Today?

I hope anyone who is so prudish as to be offended by those songs is not in a position to cause them to be banned. Have we regressed that far?

Re: Dogtown

I used to hear the tune, in its entirety, along with other Chapin tunes, on Chicago FM alternative stations. It creeped me out, still does.

"Taxi" is one of my favorite tunes, given my four years of pushing a hack. I still tear up when I hear it, or sing it.

It was written by John Lennon in 1965 but credited to Lennon & McCartney. It's on their "Rubber Soul" album.

Well I never was much of a Beatles fan anyway. My favorites back in the day were Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkle, and the Beach Boys.

Harry Chapin was one of the best singer-storytellers of our generation. I went to see him whenever he came into town. "Mr Tanner" and "A Better Place to Be" were among my favorites.
