Would you spot an impersonator quickly?

Over time we become surprisingly accurate in knowing how people express themselves on internet groups and of course personal friends on messaging. Would you be able or have you already realised quickly if anyone hacks in and impersonates someone?

What about those 'Hi Mum' WhatsApp cons going around, where someone pretends to be a son or daughter requesting money ? It's chilling how many have actually fallen for that one. It plays on parental love, which is especially cruel.

On fakebook I have. They will pop up in the chat and the person they are impersonating would never talk about the things they are talking about. If you know your friends pretty good you can tell. I can tell immediately because I only talk on the chat with a few select people. So if someone else starts talking to me, I know it is someone who has hacked their account. I do not answer them back. I report them and tell the friend if I can.
