Tomorrow is the anniversary of one of the worst tragedies to hit this nation....and there are still over 1100 people unaccounted for.

That morning will forever be etched in my mind, as we watched this horrible event unfold on TV, that morning. For me, that event was especially disturbing, as I went to the top of the WTC towers several times over the years to get a panoramic view of the city. I went to the company schools in Kingston, NY, several times over the years, and if I was there over a weekend, I always went to NYC on Sunday mornings...while the city was nice and quiet, and I could play "tourist" without huge concentrations of people and traffic. When I watched those towers attacked and destroyed, I was almost sick to my stomach.

That will always be one of those "I remember where I was when I heard" moments just as when Kennedy was shot or Pearl Harbor bombed for previous generations.

Its my birthday, hubby and I had plans to go to a Chinese restaurant that I loved about 2 hours drive, near our nephews that we had planned to stop at and invite along...
He went to shower, I turned on the TV and we never left the livingroom, it almost seemed like it was some kind of action movie, how could this be happening? ???
Lost a 1st cousin,a FDNY captain and a couple of people that I grew up with.
Hubby worked 1/2 a block away but was retired.
I guess its our generations Pearl Harbor or the JFK asassination.

I know I'll never forget that morning, being that because of where I live it was very early morning when I just woke up to answer an email I got from my cousin in Europe. And then I saw the news report and felt confused and so turned on the TV. That was just as the second tower was being attacked. Naturally, it was still confusing and so unreal. And then no flights allowed in the U.S. and no flights allowed into the country. I can still feel myself feeling way I did. It changed everything forever.

I always think of my sister in law,Suzanne and her family on this tragic day.Her younger brother,Tony who worked at bond firm,Canor Fitzgerald was one of the victims. I keep all of the victims in my prayers

OMG! That's terrible what those workers are going through in an attempt to ID the victims that are still lost somewhere in the ruins. I appreciate their efforts.

I went to see the ruins a few months after the attacks and I saw nothing but misery. Later, I went back to see Ground Zero after the Trade Centers were cleaned away and then another trip to see "One World Trade Center." The people of New York have a lot of pride in the new tower and it is a site to be seen.
