During the African Campaign a British soldier had stashed a pint of his favorite booze in the fallen leaves of a nearby palm tree
and another pint in the sand. His unit was being transferred and he wanted to recover them.
He got the first pint and was about to get the other one when a huge lion was standing in his way.
An RAF pilot in his Spitfire witnessed his plight and and saved the day by diving down and strafed the lion, killing it.
This is further proof, that a strafed lion is the shortest distance between two pints.
