Yard/Garage Sales this Summer??

We need to have a major yard sale this summer, but not sure when we will be allowed to have one. Would you have one in, oh, June or July? Would you go to one? Or will those be a thing that will just cease to exist?

I'd love to get rid of many of my possessions too. Due to circumstances, I'm waiting until next year. No, I wouldn't even go to one this year.

NO I wouldn't go to one this year.....

It's a difficult call because lots of people are home, and have the chance qhile in isolation to have a good household clearance, but there's nowhere to take it.. Charity shops are closed, recycling centres are closed, and you can't have a yard sale or boot sale, because no crowds are allowed to gather in any one place because of the visrus.. so we've all got the time to clear out but nowhere to get rid of it..

We went through our cupboards that hold baking pans, crockpots, etc. and moved everything we want to donate to the very top shelves. Who knows when Goodwill, Value Village and Salvation Army will be taking items again. I've got clothing to donate as well.

We usually have a great big yard sale here at the apts. every summer. With the proceeds we usually have a pizza party after. It's a lot of sitting but kind of interesting. I like the after party best! :sneaky: (y)

Unless there is a drastic change in the current situation, I doubt that garage/yard sales will even be allowed in most places. I think it is extremely optimistic and unrealistic to believe this virus will be "gone" (or even in full retreat) by June or July.

I know I won't be attending garage sales this year.

I almost took some furniture to a seasonal consignment sale, so we could downsize. They are having it this weekend, but I suspect they won't sell much.
I have some summer clothing that I planned to drop off at a thrift store, but people aren't interested in pre owned things right now. It may take some time for that to return to normal.
The charity thrift stores won't be able to help people if they don't have customers.
