Your best friend

ROFLMAO!

You know it, Deb!

My other best friend who still remains my best friend to this day, is my automatic washing machine!

While laundry is at an all-time low these days courtesy of just me and hubs in the home, I remember (all too well) the baby days/years.

My poor old Maytag washing machine... boy, did it see laundry! That old clunker was the noisiest washing machine I had ever heard, but it was steadfast in reliability, letting me down only a few times in all the years I had it.

I tell people, my old Maytag washed the diapers for all 6 of my kids... an estimated 60,000-70,000 diapers, not to mention countless loads of pyjama bottoms, crib sheets, baby sleepers, socks, t-shirts, training pants, and panties/undies. Nary a day went by where the clothesline wasn't sagging under the weight of fresh washing, and on many days the clothesline, electric tumble dryer, and automatic washing machine were all in use at the same time.

Then I remember my daughters going through a stage of changing multiple times each day. Outfit after outfit they'd take down from the closet or pull out from their dresser drawers, try on, then drop on the floor where they were standing when it was time for a new change of outfit. I can honestly say that tested my patience!

And then there was all of the folding and ironing! Phew!

While I loved and miss the baby days, I don't miss the laundry.
