Man is probably the worst species to inhibit our earth. We take advantage of every species and rip apart our natural surroundings all in the name of power and money. We do and have done hideous things to our own species. Most of humanity thinks we the most superior species on earth.
Perhaps that’s reason enough to take advantage of every other species we deem beneath us. We act like we’re doing our planet a favour with our manufactured progress yet dismiss the destruction we cause to all other living things.
Humanity has only been around for a fraction of time. We are merely a drop in the bucket when it comes to species inhibiting our 4.54 million year earth. The first form of humanity evolved about 200,000 years ago. Civilized humanity has only been around for a mere 6,000 which is NOTHING.
Dinosaurs rocked this planet from 230 to 65 million years ago. We can’t even fathom the idea of that amount of time. It’s beyond our comprehension as is most other species that came before us or are even here now. Humanity is a greedy, arrogant species. We always want bigger, better, more and don’t much care who or what we destroy to get it.

Since man has been quarantined, all the other species are thriving. If that doesn’t say it all, I don’t know what does.
