Your CORRECT, ACCURATE autobiography ?????

If you had to write a CORRECT, ACCURATE autobiography, could you do it? Ya know, that cherished Xmas memory? Was it when you were 3,6,8? What's more did it happen? (Could have been the plot of a forgotten movie). I tried and I can't. While I cherish my memories, instead of a true autobiography,; it's more like a memory stew.

I clearly see images with details and I know they happened, but writing about those memories are beyond me.

Wouldn't dare write it.....the statute of limitations is still in effect for some of it....

No, really, I have a fantastic memory for the far past. I can't remember where I left my hair brush...or the car keys...or my glasses, but I can tell you with perfect accuracy and detail things that happened when I was two (my mother has verified my memories). I'm known in the family for this.

No...I can remember snippets of things, especially the bad things... but whole memories?...no, I wouldn't be able to write it accurately...

It seems that over the years I've somehow blotted out or edited out some of the unpleasant memories of my early childhood while retaining the happier ones. IMO there would be nothing to gain in putting it all down on paper even if I could remember.

Repeat after me: Say it forget it, write it regret it!


If it's important to you FB forget the autobiography and turn your memory stew into a collection of short essays that capture different experiences in your life.

I have near-photographic recall, from about my fourth year, on. No problem, whatsoever, writing a detailed autobiography.
