Your worst fashion disasters

Ruth's thread got me remembering all the crazy styles my step mom made me wear to school. You would think the one I described on Ruth's thread would have been the worst..but alas it was only one of many.
When I was in the 7th grade..not kindergarten or first grade.. SEVENTH GRADE.. my step mom dropped me off at school with the same hairstyle in the picture below. Forget about Shirley Temple's face & just look at that hairstyle and imagine it on a seventh grade girl. Is there any small wonder I got a wee bit testy?

I'd have headed immediately to the girls' room with a hairbrush!

When I was in about the 3rd grade, my mom decided I needed a home perm. Talk about a disaster!!
I couldn't change it. Mt step mom threatened to drop into my school at any time & it better be like she made it. *sigh*

Oh I got the perms too. Once my hair blew off and out the car window on vacation View attachment 27593

Remember the Flash Dance look? Fuzzy hair and off the shoulder shirt, stretchy pants, big clunky Sketchers and leg warmers. Actually it was kinda cute.

Wow! BlunderWomen, I thought I had it bad. In the winter,Mom made me wear these mid evil things she called snuggies to keep warm. They were knitted panties with legs that almost went to my knee caps. I swear they were made out of wool because they itched like crazy. Always a horrible bright pink color. The bottom of the pant leg had elastic in them that was so tight they made my knee caps turn blue. At least you couldn't see them, your hair style is another thing. You couldn't hide that! You got testy and I got varicose veins!

Kinda resembled Gloria Bunker in the early episodes of "All in the Family"?
