Youthful Enthusiasm

Remember when you had some?

I'm reminded by interns working at a local TV station...one doing weather and the other doing special features. They are pumped and it shows. I also remember a medical student about to graduate and get his internship who was seeing me at a scheduled exam as part of his training; under the supervision of my regular doctor of course.

I had that enthusiasm but don't really remember when I burned out and was ready to hang it up and retire. I know I couldn't wait and retired early.

I'm still enthusiastic but not as deeply or as frequently, but passion, the mother of enthusiasm is nowhere near dead in me. I hope it never does die. I fear I will age rapidly and go downhill if that happens.
I absolutely agree with this.. fortunately I am the same as you Chic... and hope to be for a long time to come yet..

Vaguely...

Enthusiasm is good for the person and can be contagious. It's a good thing.

I used to teach a 4 hour class, same thing every time, boring for me. I soon discovered that I got better ratings and more audience participation if I was enthusiastic, even if I was faking it. And even when faking it as the class went along some of it became real.
