You've seen a UFO

I haven't personally, but my mom did in the early 1970s. Back the we had a Scottie. It was January and a very cold night. We had the dog on a rope lead so he could run around and not wander off. She went out to bring him inside for the night and she happened to look up and saw a glowing disk, about 30 feet in diameter, glide silently overhead from southeast to northwest.

Later that night there was a power outage and the dog barked (he usually didn't bark, especially at night). At that time there was an Air Force base in that direction about 10 miles away (closed in 1977 and it is now apartments). She called them and reported it. A few days later some men showed up at the house and told her she saw nothing. And that was it.

This is about that base:

I had the strangest event happen when my son was in kindergarten, so that was 38 years ago. I woke up in the middle of the night. I felt I was "summoned." "I'm here to meet the King," I said out loud, waking myself up. I was "holding" an imaginary train on my pjs! I looked at the clock, was feeling very very strange.

The next day my neighbor said he and others reported a UFO over my residence! at exactly that time! Calls made were reported in my local newspaper & on TV, from those who claimed they saw a UFO at the same time my neighbors did.

No news of it after that. (Twilight Zone theme song)

Here ya go deb

I have. Twice.

I was about 13 the first time. Me and my older brother were camping way out in the cow pasture and while we sat outside the tent roasting marshmallows, we spotted a metallic disc-shaped object in the sky that had small lights all around the rim.

This was in a vast farmland area in early summer, so the sky was perfectly clear. We were seeing who could name the visible star constellations when we spotted the UFO. The weirdest part was, my brother dropped his marshmallow stick and slowly walked away from our campfire like he was in a trance or something, looking up at this thing the whole time. Then it stopped moving, and Hoover froze. It was just sitting up there in the sky, and Hoover was standing there staring up at it for like 5 full minutes.

When it finally zoomed away, Hoov slowly walked back to the campfire, sat and picked up the stick, and went right back to roasting his marshmallow, which was covered with dirt now. He didn't answer my questions; didn't say a word about the UFO until after we got into our sleeping bags. And then all he said was "What UFO? You're crazy! Knock it off with the stupid UFO crap, and go to sleep!"

I didn't sleep.

English Bay '67 Vancouver, at twilight. Boyfriend, myself, and dozens of others were watching a moving light in the sky, which stopped/hovered for quite awhile. Suddenly, it took off, upward .. until it could no longer be seen.

It was definitely not a weather balloon.

The 2nd time, I took my girlfriend out to dinner and while we were driving home, she was looking out her window at the beautiful starry sky. Suddenly, she said, "Oh my god, what is that?" and I looked up at a thing that looked a lot like what me and my brother saw.

My girlfriend said "That's a UFO!!"

And I said, "Might be, but I ain't getting out of the car to find out."

Or a satellite, either. I'm fairly certain satellites don't move like that.

Ever since I was a kid these things have been fascinating to me. I've always believed if there is life here, there has to be life out there. Some of the shows make you think about what others have reported observing or the people with personal physical experiences. The amazing ones are when you have many different people reporting the same thing or manage to capture it on video.

To be quite honest, I would rather hear about the experiences of others rather than seeing one.

Good thread Deb! I haven't seen one but wish I could. Apparently I missed seeing one when I was about 21. My father had picked me up from work but I found out the next day that coworkers who were waiting for the bus in another direction saw a UFO. This was in broad daylight. The sighting made the news too. There have been several sightings in New Jersey over the years. A sighting over the Wanaque reservoir (I believe it was) was mentioned in the book Flying Saucers: Serious Business. Good book. I got the paperback, lost it somehow and bought another copy.

Of course the government always gives some lame a*s explanation of what a UFO is. The one over the reservoir was "the moon". A witness said if the moon was hovering 200 feet above the reservoir, we'd all be in trouble (or words to that effect).

No, and I don't want to.

Yes. We're sending spacecraft out into the universe with directions on where we are. If there are other beings, they may not be very friendly to us or bring diseases what would make COVID look like walk in the park. Remember "War of the Worlds"? That can work the other way, too.

Never. Even though I have spent hundreds of nights out solo alone under the stars while backpacking or dispersed camping far from others.

Sometimes wonder if aliens have been working and checking on me while out in those places after going to sleep. Would be such an easy subject to do so on versus others without being exposed.

Advanced entities (ie God) would have technology able to instantly put one under anesthesia and later after waking up, one would not be aware it occurred. So could have even been taken up into space craft and later would not be aware that happened. Such entities might be able to incorporate neural receivers into brain tissues allowing some level of electromagnetic brainwave monitoring.

UFOs? Am one that expects advanced entities (mostly inorganic AI) exist in our universe. But even if so, may not ever venture far from their planets because of light speed travel and communication limitations separating stars in such vast space.

Two young Kitchen staff in a hotel, in the highlands
of Scotland, took pictures of a diamond shaped craft
that was flying silently, escorted by a fighter jet 34 years
ago, they were so excited, that one went to Glasgow to
try and sell the pictures to the Daily Record, a day or so
later, some men arrived in a black car they spoke with
the 2 young men about the photographs and what they
said, frightened them, so badly, that they never mentioned
the photo's or the strange craft ever again, they have since
disappeared, nobody has been able to trace them.

Mike.
P.S. I have never seen a UFO, either.

In late August of 1976, I was walking across an open field in the outer periphery of my university campus at about 9 p.m. My eyes were drawn to one of the stars overhead that seemed to be moving. I paused and watched the object slowly move, hovering at times. It made no sound whatsoever unlike terrestrial aircraft. After several minutes of moving slowly and at times hovering, the object moved off, softly pulsing light as it went. I had never before nor since seen an object move in the sky as this one did.

The following day, area newspapers carried reports of UFO’s being sighted in the town and surrounding areas. I’m grateful for having seen one… 🛸

Pretty sure I did too in 1980. Thing in the sky in my parents back yard just sat in the air for a minute. Then took off completely horizontal so fast in a blink scared me half to death I went and hid I was scared something had seen me and was coming back I’ve never seen an air craft since that could just sit in the air like that unmoving and then leave horizontally completely straight
