Aluminum Foil to boost reception

Just read an article about using Aluminum Foil behind your Router to boost signal to your main devices.
They stated this like it is something new.

Back in the day when 'Rabbit Ears' antennas were the norm, you would crunch up some foil on each end
of the antenna, rotate it to get the best signal.



Silly young folks; this is something that everyone 'just knew' and that's what you did. 50+ years ago.

In my house which ever boy was in trouble, they were the 'Remote' and antenna movers, as punishment.

Sadly, I was my father's remote control for the television.

As a 7 year old boy I had to wade through that 70's shag rug to change the channel for Dad.

Never used aluminum foil, but I have used a coat hanger to repair a broken set of rabbit ears. If you look closely you will see that the channel selection dial is also missing. I used a pair of pliers to change the channels. Times were hard in the 70's.

I use it for my tin foil hats all the time. reception is great!
