Why do so many people seem offended when I tell them they look like a certain celebrity. I think I'd be flattered if someone told me I looked like a famous actress.

I don't look like any famous people but there have been many over the years ( Robert Redford, Paul Newman, Brad Pitt, etc. ) who have wished they looked like me.

My daughter's xhusband was often mistaken for Oliver Platt. One lady didn't believe him when he told her he wasn't him. I don't think he looked that much like him but apparently he did/does. I have been mistaken for someone else from time to time but never a celebrity and no one, I'm sure, that's good looking.

They might say you look like Elvis but they are thinking about the FAT Elvis. Also, they might think that you look like Boris Karloff on a bad hair day or maybe Bela Lugosi. Maybe you might look close to Christophe Lee or perhaps Vincent Price. Thank goodness I do not look like these "actors".

@RadishRose , this one is particularly amazing. Can almost hear it say a line from one of Sly's movies.
I was volunteering as a guide in a historic house on the grounds of the Dallas Arboretum during the holidays. It gets very busy with tourists from all over the globe. A woman walked in with her husband, and she looked exactly like a young Jamie Lee Curtis, short hair and all. I mentioned that to her. She said she had been told that a lot and really seemed to be flattered.
