We’re running out of Greeks and Italians!!

They have opened up immigration to fill the gap in Canada and we don’t have the infrastructure to fill the needs created. We definitely don’t have the housing and medical ability to serve the growth.

In 2014 the population was approx 35 million, ten years later it is 40+ million. Much of this is in the last few years with non-permanent residents. This may not seem like much since Canada is a huge land mass. Most of our habitable area is in areas along the US northern border.
Yeah, we're in a bit of a pickle these days. Trying to decide which to put forward first, the cart or the horse but we need 'em both now but we don't have the money for it!

Christian countries seemingly accept birth control methods whether the church agrees or not - many other non-christian countries do not tolerate birth controls and have large families with insufficient agricultures or work opportunities. So now their popns are moving into what they see as the beautiful western riches? but if birth rates do not increase in specific countries or the world then the world will slide into a decline ; it may take a decade or two but it will occur. What have we learnt since we first appeared on the planet - well a lot in sciences perhaps and birth controls but not sustaining the human popn long term. Less babies equals less new popn and a growing expensive older one - now can we all get our abacuses out and start again?

That's a little apocalyptic, no? Ten years is a long time. The world is full of people who are getting increasingly poor, and that's in developed countries too. With less wealth, there is less affordability for kids, etc. A turn in the economy will change things.

Last week our press, were suggesting that it is a
Global problem, there are not so many teenage
girls, being caught out, by a surprise pregnancy.

We need children to grow up and pay taxes to
look after old people's pensions, that is what will
be worrying some countries.

Mike.

Society has changed. I saw some stats the other day while reading about issues of race that are mind-boggling (at least to me). 67% of black babies in the US are born into single parent families. Single families account for 76% of black families.

I mean, we've been hearing about the breakdown of the family unit for a long time, but at this point, it's destroyed.

Without family help, having babies in developed countries is astronomically expensive. My son has two little ones. Daycare for two children younger than school age? $800/week. You read that right. And that's 52 weeks a year, and the DC center takes plenty of holidays AND vacations - and doesn't open until 8:00 AM. $41,600/annum in after-tax dollars on daycare alone.

It's the same story in many developed countries.
