Ever Visited A Beer Plant?

A place where a certain brand of beer is made, bottled and distributed?

When we lived in Colorado, we visited both the Coors Brewery in Golden and Budweiser Brewery in Ft. Collins. Both were nice and FREE to tour, but the Lounge/Sampling-Tasting are of Budweiser was much, much nicer than the Coors one. The Coors Sampling area was in the basement of the brewery and smaller than the Bud one was.

While we are at the Budweiser one in Ft. Collins, we seen the Dalmatian that rides next to the driver of the hitch and the Budweiser Clydesdale Stable and pasture behind where they were roaming around. Today, this Budweiser Plant now has a large indoor arena where the Colorado Avalanche (NHL) and other events happen, including a pro-rodeo during the Larimer County Fair in the summer.

Also visited the Bud Plant here in Jacksonville, FL. It's just as impressive to see as the one in Ft. Collins. Our one trip there, we were able to see the Budweiser Clydesdales unloaded from horse trailers and hitched to the Budweiser Wagon. The Wagon was drove around the parking lot a few times. It was absolutely fantastic. With my next post, I'll include a picture I took there.

Here is a photo of the guys putting the harness on one of the Clydesdales here in Jacksonville, FL

yes absolutely..there's a Large Brewery in our nearest Town, and yes they have Clydesdales too... ...and we've visited breweries and wineries on the Continent as well..but no horses there..

Yes, I went on a school trip to the Keo factory in Limassol in Cyprus. We were shown around the factory, then given free soft drinks and the teacher got a glass of beer.

Been to the Anheuser Buschhone in Tampa when the kids were little. But that's more of a theme park/Zoo.

Also stopped at the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchburg Tennessee on the way to Ft. Campbell to visit my son when he was in the army. We had gotten off the interstate to take some scenic back roads. Then my wife said see had to pee so I stopped at the nearest place that I figured would have a clean rest room. That happened to be the Jack Daniels place. I waited in the car while she went inside. She said the rest room was nice.

A number of years ago I had a professional tour of the Budweiser plant in Merrimack, NH. The sheer scale and the industrial technology on display in that facility were very impressive.

Trade, back in 1976 my wife and I toured the Jack Daniels facility in Lynchburg, TN. It was possibly the most pleasant factory tour I've ever been on. At that time, the plant was located in a dry county, so no product for sale and no free samples.

:what1:

I worked at the Budweiser plant on Navigation in Houston about 35 years ago when I was in the millwrights. We installed some conveyor there for the beer bottles. We had an icebox in the contractors break room that was full of Budweiser. Heaven on Earth.

A 'beer' plant is a good term, for a lot of 'beer' is simply produced by industrial processes and served frozen to remove any remaining taste. There was a brewery in the village where I lived. George Gale & co brewed one of the best pints of real ale in England. It was in the Gale family for many generations but then they sold out to one of the major London concerns.

Scotland isn't known particularly for beer, but there are a number of small breweries producing craft beer. A small brewery called Brewdog started up near me and has since become a national brand. They brew such varieties like "Tactical Nuclear Penguin" at 32% alcohol, or if you like a more normal ale, "Kamikaze Knitting Club".

While I never worked for a beer plant, but I did work for a beer and wine distribution center. From 1PM to 9:30PM, Monday thru Thursday and 8AM to 5PM on Friday, I'd help put wine orders together for the delivery trucks the next day and Monday AM. Got the job thru a Temp-To-Perm Agency. On the Monday thru Thursday shift I was on, one of the veteran guys, who had been working at the center for years, would pop open a pony keg of beer in the cooler for that shift to drink. Had never worked somewhere where I could drink beer while working, but. And, there were a few times that we'd unload a train car of wine, on the tracks, and a cattle watering tub was full of ice and beer for us to drink at breaks. The company was going to hire me full-time as a delivery driver, but I seriously doubted that I could physically handle the job and was planning on leaving the state anyway.

But, it sure was a delight working for the company for the time I did!

Actually, they are known as breweries in the USA, too. I've never heard the term "beer plant" in my life.

When I saw the word 'plant', I hoped it was something that I could grow in my garden;);)

Apologies for double posting my pic of the brewery. I forgot I had posted it in another similar thread.
