Still morning in Arizona 11am

But it's 100 degrees. Today we expect to hit 108. The saying is "Yeah but it's a dry heat!" True but ovens also have dry heat. This summer we will most likely get 120.

That's terrible Jim. I can't stand the heat. In New Jersey the temps rarely hit 100 but the humidity is horrible. I guess you roast and I grow moss all over my body. No happy medium these days. I'm not sure if the weather is changing or my memory is fading but as a kid I don't remember it being so bad. I think kids don't feel it. I remember going swimming in water so cold my lips were blue and I went back for more. Try and stay cool.

I don't usually mind the heat, but 120 is over the top for me.

I feel like I've been rode hard and put up wet !

LOL - the heat. I know someone who moved to Arizona. She complains about the heat and "Dust Storms."

We hit 101 yesterday in Houston... and it was that WET heat ...lol Only in the 90's today here. .. I keep my A/C at 70, and the heck with the electric bill !! ... 68 @ night.

We lived in Phoenix when it got to 120 .. that happened a few times every August it seemed.

That desert country is nice in the Winter, but can be brutal in the Summer. My Sister and Brother-in-law have a nice 2nd home in Scottsdale, and they seldom go down there in the Summer. But, then, those who live in the far Northern states have bitterly cold Winters to contend with...so I guess there is No perfect year round climate.

That is why we moved back to Florida from Arizona, it is in the mid 80s all this week. We do get a lot more rain here.

I spent some Navy time in San Diego. It was not a place for going to the beach, the water never got warm.

Jim-It`s very hot here in Lakeport too. And I just saw a post on FB that it is 100 degrees in San Bruno,CA-the town where I was born and raised, about 10 miles south of San Francisco. I think everybody knows that San Francisco is not known for their hot weather-especially not in June.

We are already experiencing several wildfires-not in Lake County,so far-but we are surrounded by fires. It`s very early for that. The power company will now be shutting down power in high risk areas during hot,dry days as they were to blame for some of last year`s fires. Ugh. Going to be getting a generator, but right now they are saying it will take a month to get one connected properly. Going to be a long, hot summer.

I could never live in such a desolate and hot climate, never mind the dust storms.

We do get up into the 90's and sometimes 100's in summer but those are considered "waves" and are not very often.

Heat/fires/power outages ...just can't imagine! ... Living with all that has to be so terrifying to say the least. So sorry Mrs. R. Hope they get things under control soon, and your family stays safe.

Well you live in Gods country and it's always been my fantasy to return there. Hopefully you guys aren't threatened by fire this year.

Well,if you were to return,I`m sure you would see some changes-but not as many as most places have changed over the years. Did you say you lived on 6th St?

No. I don't know the street. Remember I was about 7. All I remember is the house was up on a hill and we walked down to the elementary school below.
