What was broken that needed to be fixed? I liked it just the way it was, why the change in format?

Well, the rule doesn’t apply to the computer world, we need to adapt to survive, can you imagine Microsoft still selling windows xp?

People need to access the forum on their phones, they need to upload pictures easily, they want to login with their fb accounts. If we don’t provide that, this forum will die, I don’t want to close this forum in a couple years. I have closed quite a few.

Thanks for the explanation, Matrix. We DO need to adapt to survive. I'm sure it will grow on me, eventually.

It’s vbulletin who abandoned us, we had no choice. vB used to dominate the forum software market, they made a new version that everyone hated, but they don’t care what the admins need, they can make easy money just by making small changes to vbulletin 3 or 4. I waited 5 years, suggested several times on their support forum, they just didn’t care.
 
I'm OK with it. It will just take time to get use to the format. One thing that makes me nervous is on the right hand side of the first page ,just below,"post a thread" it says,"Share this page." I wouldn't want any of my threads getting on any of those selections. I guess you have to actually click on them to share but it is so close to the" post a thread" selection. I can just see me making a quick click and its all over Facebook. I'll have to be extra careful.

Of course private messages are still private. Just because the format looking different doesn’t mean it’s no longer private.
 
Not only do I hate this new format I especially hate the 'like' feature. It's an immature popularity device and used on other forums to gang up and bully. I don't believe that would happen here, but I do see it as foolish.
 
Ugh, like a bunch of grumpy old people complaining about minute little things. I have zero grumpy people in my personal life. It’s just a website. It’s not your website. We are just visitors! Visitors in someone’s home. I wouldn’t tell someone that I want them to change their decor.

I seriously don’t notice any differentiation at all! On my iPad it’s just a prettier format with nicer brighter graphics. Why is that so difficult?

I’m not on this site very much. Many times I find it depressing vs. uplifting and fun. Life is too short. Carry on.
 
I'm not being grumpy. Just stating my opinion because I felt like it. Not concerned with who is in your personal life.
