Thinking Of Moving

I was looking and found a real nice home almost ready to purchase it,when this stupid brain of mine started asking questions.
1. why are you moving in the first place?
Just thought another place would be nice, been here for 6 years now.

2..what about your new neighbors? Do you know them?
That kinda scared me.

3.Do you have any idea what items you're moving from one house to another?
Now that I think about it ..NO.

4. Do you have any idea what it TAKES to move and the cost of it?
Now that I think about ..NO

4.What about the 16 and 8 year old, have you ask them?
They dont want to move PERIOD,same old excuse" BUT,BUT all my friends live here."

5.What about the schools for the kids?
I donno know...right now the 8 year old just cross the street and he is at his school.
The 16 year old High School is 1.5 miles away.
I have no idea about the "new" schools yet they will go too.

6.Do you have any idea how old you are to be doing all this?
What does my being 75 have to do with all this?

I need to lie down a bit and think about all this.

We have moved home about 10 times in our 45 years of marriage, and owned several other properties, which we rented out.

Every move I've made had a strong purpose for it and it was planned carefully. The last move (2003) was to downsize from my large house to a condo I'd be happy keeping through my retirement.

I think we often believe that we have to 'justify' what we do...and very often (I'm not saying in your case) you wonder what 'others' will think.;..yup, even when we get older and more 'wise!' :)
I think we tend to become more 'cautious' when we get older... and I'm not convinced that is the way to have FUN. Even if you are doing this just because its 'something new and different' that sounds ducky dandy to me!!
I have this lady friend who just bought a 4 bedroom house with a big yard...(if anybody is here from Denver, you know what I am talking about saying its in the Cherry Creek area)
After she left I told my friend What is she DOING!! She is 82 years old...blah blah blah...and no I didn't enjoy the sound of my judgmental stuff! But this lady has the bucks and she says she wants to spend as much of it as possible before she dies. Maybe I was just a little bit jealous, eh??
So, not that its wrong to 'think' about it...but he you are only 75 and I'm a whole year older!! So just plain do what YOU really want to do!

Easy for you to say,I'm the guardian of a 16 year old gal for the last 4 years, she keeps me going 24/7.:D
"Papa, have you seen my black bra?,it was right there where I left it.."

mumbling....yea I was using it yesterday to boil eggs.

Sorry, Davey, I didn't know they lived with you full time ... you bet that would make a difference, so I will just wish you good luck.

Given their ages and school locale? I would absolutely stay put.

I live in aa fairly large 4 bedroomed house, on my own and was thinking of downsizing because of the work involved and the big garden I can no longer control. However, with long discussions with my son, we have decided that he and his wife will be moving in with me. They will have there own rooms and facilities. It will save them about ÂŁ1000 a month in rent and utilities. I will no longer have the problem of cleaning and looking after the garden and in later years, if I need any looking after, I will have my own live in carer!! I decided that he will be having the house anyway, when I go, so he might as well have the use of it now instead of when he is too old to inherit the house.

Brilliant. :)
