New Blood Test May Be Up to 94% Accurate in Finding Alzheimer's Brain Changes

I would not, would not want that information to carry on my mind. I already know I will pass as my body ages and life sub staining function fail. Current laws do not permit human euthanasia, but late term Alzheimer patients are the walking dead and death ls a blessing,

I think that assisted suicide is permitted now in some states Norman. If I had my wits about me when I was having serious Alzheimer's symptoms, I would definitely want to take that route. I guess perhaps these days you can specify that in a living will, so your spouse can handle it if you're no longer capable.

Every week I take a cool on line quiz. You all know the type. About 15 questions on a particular topic. Random trivia about bubble gum one week, Groundhog Day facts for another, US Founding Fathers the next. After finishing the quiz I read the answers to the questions I missed - there's no explanation given to the missed questions, just the answers. The entire exercise takes about five minutes, and then I get on with my day.

I place little importance on that score. However, I retake the test later the same day to verify my ability to learn and retain new information. This means not only remember the answers to questions I missed, but also recalling the lucky and unlucky guesses.

So far, so good.
Every night after saying a prayer, I mentally retrace my entire day from what I had for breakfast, what headline was on the new paper, what I had for dinner and any other activities out side my normal day. Many times I go to sleep before I finish and If I don't I will retrace the directions to my daughters house. Some times it is not easy and I have got out of bed to remember my day. Ugg and that scares me and I remember a friend who told me he could not remember what he had for breakfast everyday, but could recall events from his childhood. Years later and in his late 80's he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's/dementia and placed in a nursing home. T I M E W I L L tell, my doctor tells me ''don't worry about it''

My 7 year old grandson is smart as a whip, Norman. As a test of his short term memory, I recently asked him what he'd eaten for dinner the previous night. He gave me a blank look and couldn't bring it to mind without some prompting from his mother. Not all memories are impressed equally on our minds. My daughter had a greater investment in the meal because she'd done the planning, shopping, preparation, and will figure in the leftovers. He merely sat down and ate it.

Hope this helps you a little bit.

p.s. Can't believe you would intentionally bring to mind the newspaper headlines before going to sleep. Those thoughts would set me up for a rough night.
