Decided to do a day trip by bus to Niagara Falls area

Trailways bus here in NY does a "casino package" to the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls. On the American side. You go to one of the pick up stops at designated time. Pay $30 to driver and go. You get a $45 perk from the Casino in plays on slots, or lunch or something. So it is basically a free ride. Seneca is one of the Indian casinos.
I am not going as much for the casino, as for the fact that it is walking distance (10 minutes or so) from the falls. The stay is about 4-5 hours, I forget exact off top of my head. and then the bus brings you back home. It is a two hour or so ride from here, if you factor in all the stops to pick up other riders. And I do not have to drive. I am going to meet the bus at one of the Park and Ride bus lots near my house.
I will leave here at 8:15 AM and be back at my car by 6PM .
I have been wanting to do it for a while, just kept putting it off. But was thinking, I have no plans for tomorrow, so what the heck.

The falls are between 1/2 mile and a mile from the casino, depending on exactly where you want to go.

Take your phone and when you get there ask for a taxi company number just in case you don't want to walk back.

I do not know what state you live in, but do a search for "bus tours, or day trips. Before the big Indian casino boom, there was a bus company that did trips to Atlantic City for the day. You were there for about 12 hours from the time you arrived. Plenty of time to walk the boardwalk, find some where nice to eat, sit on the beach and see a show. I met a young (20-something) couple who did the trip once every summer. They had not a lot of money, got their "cash back " bonus from the casino. Used it up and then would spend the rest of the time sitting on the beach.
 
To be honest, it really depends on how I feel if I decide to do the mile walk to the falls. Seneca does have shuttles to the falls, I may see if I can take one. I would consider paying, since I would not be a guest of the hotel, just of casino.

Marie. We took that trip a few years back. A good time for us. We played Bingo all the way down, which made time fly. Nobody played on the way back, because we were all broke. :(
 
A bit overcast out. Decided not to do falls. Maybe next trip. Played some slots. Lost some $$$
Cannot decide if I want to play more or just hang. Cannot go to bus for another hour and 15 minutes.
I was talking to people on the bus who do this weekly. Sometimes 2 or 3 times a week.
Nice to have that kind disposable income. A man told me he lost $4000 last month at another casino. Nope not for me.
May do this again next-------year.
 
Dave and I went last summer and stayed on the Canadian side. It was spectacular. Not sure what they have on the American side, but the Canadian side has a wonderful visitor center. We could get incredibly close to the falls and it was breath taking. Enjoy!
 
When we went to Niagara Falls in 1969 the American falls was shut off. They were trying to figure out how to stop the erosion of the stone face. The Canadian side was as normal. We enjoyed the Maid of the Mist boat ride at the bottom of the falls. Enjoy.
