Only one Brand..

I'm a value shopper too but sometimes the name brands provide a better value for me than the bargain brands.

I still buy Dawn dish soap, Smucker's Natural peanut butter, Hellmann's mayonnaise, Moser Roth 85% German Dark Chocolate and a few others.

I scrimp on the bananas and splurge on the oranges, it all evens out in the end.

Usually, for most common household items, we buy "Great Value" brand at Walmart. When I was working, I made several trips to the Bentonville, AK Walmart headquarters, and every day there was a steady line of salesmen selling their products to Walmart....to be marketed under the Walmart brand. Walmart buys by the truck/trainload, and negotiates these salesmen down to their lowest possible price. 99.9% of the products are the same as the name brand, but several percentage points less in cost to the consumer, as a result of the massive quantities Walmart buys.
