Lost Her to Cancer

My Mom didn't call me the day of my birthday, 1996. That was a first, for her. I figured I'd call her the next day to see what was going on. At 6:30 AM, the next day, I got the call: She had just passed, after eating a small breakfast. It was not expected, but not a total shock, as she was ailing. Oddly, as I would find out some years later, that day was my tattoo shop partner's then-wife's birthday. My then-wife's birthday was the day his mother had passed! I still miss my Mom, almost twenty-three years later.

Sorry for your loss. Cancer does not discriminate. It’s a disease that I thought we would have found a cure for with the billions and billions of dollars that have been spent on experimentations. Some forms have the ability to be cured, but the most deadliest are still waiting for a treatment to cure it.
