First night in Lexington, VA.

Traffic was about as light as I ever seen it. Made 550 miles today. One more night on the road and home Friday. Lots of tears when we said goodbye to our friends we’ve know for 20 years at the campgrounds. It’s been a good ride and an important time in our life. Now, on to new ventures in Florida.

I've always appreciated that line by Kermit the Frog as Bob Cratchit in the movie "A Muppet Christmas Carol".

For my friends in the UK, Pappy's "commute" to Florida is likely a bit more than the driving distance from London to Naples, Italy.

Drive safe, Pappy. I wish you many happy years as a full-time Floridian.

Thanks everyone. Got home Friday at 2:00 pm. Traveling was good today and made excellent time. Thank God the long drives are over for us. Both pretty tired and mother is taking a nap. Tomorrow, need to stock up on food and do a hundred other things. Our new bathroom is beautiful. I’ve got the best kids in the world. Catch up later. Good day to all.

1380 miles and no accidents seen, thank God. Saw some bad ones over the years. The worst was a large truck pulling a 5th wheel camper, and that was in your state.

Glad you made the trip safely. We made that drive from New England, for 16 years and enjoyed every trip but towards the end I kept thinking that miles were being added, or at least it felt that way.
