AARP membership

I either watched that same video before, or I watched one very similar to it several years ago. Not being an "Obama-ite" , I did not ever sign up with AARP. (in fact, back when i was selling insurance, I remember hearing a lot that people did not even like the AARP insurance, and that their plan did not compare well with some of the other companies plans.)
I think that they are mainly good for offering people all the little welcome gifts, and other small benefits, but not as an overall program.
We belong to American Seniors, which is a similar program. It doesn't offer you all the little enticements, but i like what they stand for much, much better.

I dont think AARP is what it use to be 10 years ago,I was a member for a while then dropped it.
It has become too politically active like the NRA ,IMO.
Like you say their mags are so full of ads that you actually have to go find any stories between all those ads, ususally the story is just one page stuck in between 10 ads.(who needs that).
BUT both these organizations keep sending me mail almost weekly with a membership card made out to my name.I tell them to "STOP MAILING" but they keep doing it anyhow.

they kept sending me their spam trash in the mail. since its post mark paid return i emptied everthing into the return envolpe and mailed it. never heard a word since

What a great idea, thanks! I dropped them when they backed Obamacare or I should say they sold out for profit, threw all seniors under the bus.

did the same to credit card co's. now my mailbox is empty of all this trash

Ohh thanks for the video. I actually was looking forward to being a member but when I went through my friend's paperwork and saw there were really no benefits and I would be paying to receive a lot of junk ads I was very disappointed.
