Are you still cooking over a hot stove or is it mcrowave city?

I have a gas stove with three pilot lights. I haven't used my stove to cook in such a long time, I turned off the gas. Why have three pilot lights going when I never use it. For me, it's microwave city. So, are you still cooking over a hot stove or is it microwave city?

Proper electric cooker. 5 rings, grill and 2 ovens. Microwave is OK for re-heating and some vegetable cooking, but I use the cooker for all meals, cakes etc... Tomorrow it's slow roast rolled mutton rib. UK gas cookers don't have pilot lights - electronic ignition and flame detection.

Electric deep dish frying pan.
Slow cooker.
T-fal cook-4-me unit.
Outdoor BBQ

Oven is used occasionally along with stove
The microwave is used for heating up things only.

We use them all - - - gas stove, microwave oven, gas oven, convection oven (occasionally), toaster-oven (just died), electric grill (indoors). propane BBQ (outdoors), rice cooker, crock pot (occasionally), etc..

I use my electric oven 2-3times/wk depending on what I'm having for dinner.e.g.If I'm having chicken,I rather bake it in the oven instead of zapping in the microwave
I do use my microwave most of the time for frozen veggies, heat up soup ,cereal e.g 'cream of wheat',my frozen dinners

When he retired, the hubby took over all the cooking. We have a gas stove with electronic starters, so no pilot. We also have a Breville toaster oven, which we use a lot, in addition to the microwave.

I use my oven once a year for cooking. The rest of the time for storage. Mainly slow cooker, convection oven and microwave. In fact, for dinner I am microwaving some chili I made in the slow cooker a few months back, and froze in small portions.

I do a lot of cooking on my electric oven and stove top. Trying new recipes is one of my ''retirement hobbies''. I've never owned a microwave and don't want one. I buy/eat almost no commercially made food.

IMHO nearly everything, including items packaged for the microwave taste better if cooked in the oven or in a pan on the stove top. The only thing I regularly prepare in the microwave is a poached egg....they come out perfect every time.

I use my electric stove and oven for the majority of my cooking and baking. Re-heating I use the microwave.

"Cooking over a hot stove" is an outdated image.

For many years I snacked on microwave popcorn, but I can't remember the last time I had some.

I cook on the stove. Never use a micro wave for anything. It radiates all the nutrients out of your food.
I may be paranoid, but I wouldn't be surprised if in the future they will say that microwaves cause cancer or some other health problem. After all, humans were smoking for a LONG time before it was connected to cancer. I'll pass, I'm never in that much of a hurry anyway.

My stove. I only make instant oatmeal or reheat something in the microwave. In fact, I wouldn't really miss it if it was gone.
Oh c'mon now, Rose. How many of those cups of coffee have you re-heated? The ones that you put down to answer the phone or get distracted. If you're like me, you first have to find the coffee, having forgotten where you left it, and when you do - -20 seconds in the microwave and you're good to go. I think you'd be in tears if the microwave abandoned you - - if only for that forgotten coffee.

I really enjoy cooking so usually use every burner. Once every few days I heat leftovers in the microwave, cook a couple of fresh things and have pot luck dinner. The evening before trash day is a definite pot luck dinner. I also like re-defining something on pot luck nights. Think leftover broccoli and leftover rice, add mild spices and cheese and bake until cheese browns. Or leftover fried chicken into chicken salad for lunch. Only use the oven if it's winter unless it's for short cooking times. Heats up the kitchen too much.

That sounds yummy! I'm a rice lover.
