I have been told they only spray in the bathrooms, kitchen and living room. Now, they are under some control, but I have seen one or two in other rooms and have killed them. Where there is one, there is possible breeding grounds going on in the walls, under the floor and oh my gosh! They have already sprayed and I need some ideas from others of what do you do?

Also, exterminators will go under your house in the crawl space at no extra charge but you have to ask. Are you on the ground floor of your apartment? Have you ever noticed where they're coming from?

Have heard dusting with Borax or Avion Bait Gel works great!

If you live in an apartment complex you really can't do much to eliminate the problem.

I agree that you should notify the landlord/management company and give them a reasonable amount of time to correct the problem.

If that doesn't work notify your local housing code folks and see what they can do.

After that, I would contact the local television station.

Good luck!

The big problem in apartment buildings is that often they'll treat one floor or section and then the roaches just move around to the other floor/section.

I had never seen a roach until I moved into an old apartment building in Detroit. Then it became WWIII and the roaches generally won. It was like fighting a tsunami.

When we bought a house and moved, I had everything unloaded in the driveway and every article was shaken and inspected carefully before it went in the house. Everything down to the last sock. We got rid of any upholstered furniture. I never had roaches in my house, thank goodness.

Here in Florida, we have "palmetto bugs" that are essentially giant mutant roaches. No matter what you do, there will be an occasional one come in from outdoors. I freak out.

COMBAT. It really works, and it works for years.
Combat Roach Killing Bait, Large Roach Bait Station, Kills the Nest, Child-Resistant, 8 Count

Spraying will only kill visible roaches. The bait trays work much better because roaches bring the poison when they hang out with their friends & all of them eat it.

I had them bad in the last place I lived and chose to call an exterminator on my own. They solved the problem! Just 2 times they came, too.

That is so true, and if you treat your house they will move to the house next door, too.

When I first moved to this newly built house, I made the mistake of starting a compost in the back yard. It had many roaches in it but when I googled it said roaches were part of the composting. But then my house got infested inside and I got rid of the compost. I bombed the house inside, twice, at night and it got rid of the infestation. At night because that is when they come out and I could get most of them.

here in georgia we use bengal spray just the fumes of the spray will kill them for several months--it is about 13$ a can but it works good

You know, had a flea infestation a few years ago and dusted with Borax and placed some under the cushions. I did bomb too, and heard Borax (boric acid) is the choice of exterminators for organic/pet/child friendly areas. An exterminator told me, if you can kill fleas you can kill anything.
I have Borax, had forgotten about it. I will put it out and kill them. I have only seen a couple in the bedroom area and didn't get to kill him so thank you for the reminder.
