Do you celebrate your birthday in a big way? Is your birthday important to you?

I discontinued birthdays and holidays many years ago. I'd be happy sleeping from Thanksgiving Eve thru New Years Day if I could add those days to sometime mid April. I'm too close to the end to lose them entirely.

Well, in 37 minutes it's going to be my birthday. I think I'll celebrate by going to bed.
LOL, I have a problem. I was born around 8am in Italy and now that I'm in Arizona I am not sure when it's my actual birthday. I ''think'' it's at 12am the night before (there's an 8 hour difference between AZ and Italy).

Never received a gift for my birthday until I was married. When you have a birthday right after Christmas you are told that your Christmas gifts were also for your birthday. Now my kids do call and send gift cards. My oldest daughter brings my fav dinner from Mamacitas here in town so that is more than enough for me.

You think you have a problem? One guy I know was born on December 31. He laments, half jokingly, that if he had waited ONE day he could have been one year younger. LOL

Very sweet of your daughter to bring you your favorite Mexican dinner. What is it? I can't decide if it's tamales or chile relleno, but since I know how to make tamales I opt for the chile rellenos.

My birthday is December 31 and I was born 11:45. I always asked her why she could not have waited 15 minutes so I would be a year younger. She said to wait until I was pregnant and see if I wanted to wait another minute to get it over with. I understood what she meant when I was in labor. And the meal is beef enchiladas with all the usual fixings. It is known as the Monteray dinner on their menu. Spelling may not be correct but it is an awesome meal!

It always interests me who or if someone remembers it enough to give me a shout or a nod.
I don't do treats but it is a surprise if someone remembers my birthday. Our family birthdays are from October thru January. My birthday is in June so I'm usually looked over. But that's fine with me. I never liked being the center of attention. An old friend of mine usually calls me and we catch up on stuff but we do that every couple of months anyway. She just takes the time to call and wish me a happy birthday.

Daddy Elf's birthday is on Christmas Day so he rarely had a birthday party even as a kid. When he turned 50 we made plans to give him a large party the first week of December. Then he called and said he was going to work overtime that night. I called his boss and told him what we planned and that we had family coming from all over the country so he gave the overtime to someone else so Daddy could come home. You should have seen his face when he walked in the door and saw everyone!

Our family usually gathers for "favorite foods" meal for the birthday celebrant. Friends and I treat each other to a restaurant meal. All very low key.

No, never cared about my birthday.
I have remembered to celebrate each day of my life though.
Nope never had a birthday party.
