How do you feel about medical equipment sneaking a place in your home?

The Sticks, Northeast PA.
I live 250 miles from my childhood home. On a trip back home, I'll never forget walking in there, and seeing my 84 year old dad's hospital bed in the living room, with all his medical equipment. I'm 73 but I'm in a wheelchair , and there is a BP cuff. In the bathroom lots of "fall" prevention fixtures. I don't like the way my home can turn into a hospital room. How do you feel about medical equipment sneaking a place in your home?
 

i wouldnt like it either....
since my hubbys stroke, i have bits in my spare bedroom.....
I didnt even like 4 carers ,running in and out of my house, so that only lasted a few months, then i cared for him myself.....
for the past 7yrs I have kept our home as normal as possible...,
 
I had a hard time with accepting it, at first, but gradually changed my view. They seem like good tools to use, for a person's comfort or ease to do more things, than they otherwise could, and much better to be at home, if possible. There's still value to life, even when it's not as we wish it was, for us or a loved one.
 
I wouldn't want a full fledged hospital unit in my home. I'm pretty sure by the time I would need all that I wouldn't much care where I was but having some conveniences would be ok if it made life easier.
We remodeled our bathroom a few years back and I wish we had put in some safety bars in the tub area. We did put in a raised toilet at that time which now with my creaky knees is a blessing.
 
I have my own medical instruments, at home, including an EKG, AED and lab quality microscopes with a stain kit. If I need other machines, to diagnose any problems I think I may have, I'll get them. What I have, now, fits in a bedroom, out of the way.

If I ever need any equipment to live, then I'll probably be at the point where I won't want to. Then, I'll do what needs to be done.
 
This might be a good niche for a smaller company to create home-friendly designs and carrying cases for medical equipment.

I know that I've been looking for an attractive furniture quality version of a hospital over chair/bed table similar to this one only sturdier.

I think if I ever got poorly enough to have to spend a lot of time in bed, I'd quite like something like this..
