Just chillin today

Grampa Don

Yep, that's me
Nothing like a nice fire on a gray overcast day. Sitting here in my hobby room with tea with a bit of brandy and my Kindle. Maybe I'll do something useful tomorrow.

I hope you're enjoying your day.

Yes, I am. I hooked up my TV to my amplifier. It works great for those ROKU shows. By the way, love your mandolin. Always wanted to learn to play one. I just beat on my guitar for several years now. Music is great because it help fight those dementia problems. I love to sing those great songs from 50 & 60s. Anyone here for "On Top of Old Smokey" or "How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?"

The fire is courtesy of my Roku. The mandolin is one we bought for my son. He doesn't play it anymore so I got it. I just pick out a few tunes by ear. I like your choice of music. I'm old enough to remember when they were hits.

Love those old songs, too. Its a gorgeous day here...squeaky clean "severe" sunny in the high 60's - but, I'm baking cookies most of the afternoon for the fire dept. meetings coming up this next week. Listening to Anne Murray and Frank Sinatra's Christmas songs as I scoop! I'd yell at hub to build a fire, but then he'd want me to come in and settle with a good book. Way too tempting. Its supposed to get colder later in the week, then its fire building time, huh! Great to wrap presents by!!

When I was younger, much younger, I took up the violin/fiddle for 5 years. My downfall was to get a music teacher who tried to force me to play right handed. I'm left handed. I gave it up & got into guitar when I won a cheapo guitar at a draw at a craft fair. Since then I bought a good Epihone that was built for left handed people. Some music teachers really "suck". Paul McCarthy plays left handed & so do many other people. Can't trust your music teacher, I guess. Some of the best musicians are those who learned by ear or by themselves. Music should be fun not a chore.

love the pic grampa don -I have a electric log burner just not the same ''
